Sizzix Tim Holtz Christmas Cutout Snow Globe card

Welcome back and Nancy, here.  Today, I am showcasing the Sizzix Christmas Cutouts die set by Tim Holtz that is available now at The Rubber Buggy.  These adorable special messages with the festive season are ideal for your Christmas card making and paper crafting of the houses, trees, hearts and stars to pop out of the die to create unique Christmas card, party invitation and gift tags.

 

The Sizzix Tim Holtz Christmas Cutout die set of 16 thinlit dies can be used separately or with the trees, heart and stars to pop out of the die to create unique sentiments and images. 

I wanted to make this look like a snow globe so I cut out the white circle with Spellbinder Nestabilities die set and then used the same circle die along with a larger circle die to cut out the metallic silver circle.  I sponged on the white cardstock some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Stormy Sky blue ink and then stamped the Lawn Fawn Winter Sky stamp set with the Santa and sleigh with black ink.  

I cut out the houses and trees with green and red cardstock and cut out some yellow cardstock and glued behind the red houses.  I cut out a circle with white cardstock and cut off 1/3 for the ground.  I glued the houses and trees on the circle and added NUVO White Blizzard glitter drops all over to make the snow.  I cut out the stars in the die set with metallic gold cardstock and added these to the background and above the three in the PEACE sign.

I made the Peace banner using the wooden cardstock from the Ciao Bella Christmas Vibes paper pad and used the Sizzix Tim Holtz CutOut die of the banner that came with the set to cut out black paper to adhere behind the PEACE.  I cut out the Christmas tree with green glitter paper and used glue to added it to the PEACE Christmas tree.  

I used Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam white strip to adhere the globe and sign to the Lawn Fawn Let It Shine paper cardstock.  I used two Spellbinder Nestabilities rectagular dies to create the silver metallic cardstock frame and used glue to adhere to the card.

Stampers Anonymous and Tim Holtz 2022 Christmas Tags

Welcome back and Nancy, here.  With the very cold temperatures and snow on the ground, the feeling of winter and Christmas inspired me to paper craft today.  I am showcasing the Stampers Anonymous by Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamp - Department Store stamp set along with the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Christmas Botanical which is a packet of chipboard poinsettias, holly leaves and berries, pine trees, wreaths, pine branches, and cards with various images of poinsettias, holly leaves and berries that you will definitely want in your stash this year to start on your Christmas cards. The Department Store stamp set has beautiful detailed wreath and bell stamps along with other gorgeous other Holiday stamps for this year's Christmas cards. I stamped the bell and wreath using the Ranger Ground Espresso ink on a stamping platform which I had to reink the stamp about 4 times before getting the imprint and colored with colored pencils and Copic Markers. I learned a new technique that I haven't used but to leave the stamp and paper in the stamping platform after inking the stamps, color the image and reink the stamp and stamp it again on the paper for that crisy look which coloring tends to fade out.  

I had a few throw aways at first before getting the coloring done with my satisfaction.  You can fussy cut the wreath and bell or use your Brother's Scan and Cut to cut these out.  I did a little molding using the Sizzix Making Tool with mat on the back of the wreath and bell and glued with Beacon 3-n-1 Advanced glue just the edges on the wreath and bells before adhereing to the tags to get a 3D look rather than a flat appearance that brought out the look more.  I used glue to adhere the chipboard of the  Ciao Bella Christmas Vibes 12 x 12 Collection Pad to each tag of poinsettis and holly leaves.  

I sponged on with a sponging brush the Ranger Ground Espresso and Ranger Gathered Twigs ink on cream cardstock and then stamped the image with Ranger Ground Espresso ink.  I added the Season's Greeting banner from the Spellbinder Winter White Sentiments package. This Winter Wonderland Printed Die Cut Sentiments are from the Winter Wonderland Collection. The set of 146 die cut shapes is full of words and expressions of the season.
I created the tags using the gorgeous wood pattern cardstock in the Ciao Bella Christmas Vibes 12 x 12 Collection Pad.  I stamped the Merry Christmas with white ink and used the NUVO Detailed White embossing powder for added depthness of white on red cardstock.  I added a deep red seam binding ribbon behind the label using the 1/2" wide Scor-tape.

Sizzix Colorized Tim Holtz Thinlit Dies-Bow Tied All Occasion Cards

Welcome back and Nancy, here.  I am showcasing the new Christmas 2022 new arrival of the beautiful Sizzix Colorized Tim Holtz Thinlit Dies-Bow Tied to used this time for my birthday and baby cards.  Previously, I showcased Christmas cards using the same die set.  Although this die set arrived with the Sizzix Christmas die sets,  I was able to make this die set work perfectly for a baby and happy birthday card.  Today I’m going to share a few sneaky tricks that you might be able to use the next time you have the chance to use this wonderful die set.

This die set comes with 11 dies and on the back of each die, it is etched with a number of a Set from #1 to 3 to use each set with the color cardstock if you wish.  The best way to begin using the Sizzix Colorize die set is to watch the Sizzix tutorial by clicking HERE.  


I had a lot of fun getting out my folder of supplies baby showers cards with stickers and papers.  I used three shades of pink cardstock to create this bow and glued the bow onto a 
4 1/2" square patterned paper and cut off the edges before layering it onto the solid color cardstock base frames.  The darkest shade of pink was used for Set #1 for the background of the bow with the lightest pink shade, Set #3,  for the top of the bow.  Also, you can sponge on layers of Distress inks before cutting out the colors to get different shades of pink or other colors.

I used  Graphic 45 Time to Celebrate collection paper and added a metal clock to the center of the bow.  I fussy cut a butterfly from the Graphic 45 collection as well as the Happy Birthday banner and glued it onto the card.  I made the bow with three shades of beige and used a couple shades of beige with sponging on Distress Vintage Photo ink with heavier sponging for Set #1 to less applied ink for Set #3 for the lighter shade of beige for the vintage appearance.

I highly recommend getting the new Sizzix Chrome Precision Base Plate for Intricate Thinlits even though your old dies works fairly well for cutting thin dies.  The Chrome Precision Base Plate leaves no impressions behind from previous cuts, so it always looks new even after a year of daily use.

I used Beacon 3-n-1 Advanced glue to assemble the bows and cards.  The Rubber Buggy carries all of the colors of My Color Cardstock along with other brand names that are available now for you to create your cards along with other supplies

Christmas cards with Sizzix Thinlit Tim Holtz Twig and Thump

Hi everyone! I am back again to share another card I created with the new Tim Holtz/Sizzix release for Christmas 2022. I had so much fun creating these card and I hope it has inspired you.  A new reorder of the Sizzix Tim Holtz dies are coming soon so get your order in immediately while supplies last since these adorable colorlit dies and Tim Holtz stamps sets will soon sell out fast.  

For these cards, I am showcasing the Sizzix Thinlit Tim Holtz Twig and Thump die set to create these Christmas cards. The set comes with 26 dies and there are two different sets of dies for their nose and hands besides several dies for five different snowmen dies so that you can really create a variety of scenes for those wintery Christmas card.




I started by die cutting each snowman out of white shimmer cardstock.  I cut out black cardstock and glued behind the snowmen for their buttons and eyes.  

I sponged on blue Distress Ink to add a little color to the background before using a embossed folder for the snowflakes for the top card.  

I die-cut some of the snowflakes with glitter cardstock as well with white shimmer cardstock. For the greeting, I die cut the "Winter Wishes" die from brown cardstock and die cut the backing behind it with white cardstock.

I am lovin the Sizzix Colorized Tied Bow die set for various occasions.

Sizzix Thinlit Colorized Bow Tied Christmas Cards

Welcome back and Nancy, here.  Christmas is around the corner and don't wait too long to get your supplies while they last.  It is so much fun to get these made way before the Christmas rush.

I am showcasing the new Christmas 2022 new arrival of the beautiful Sizzix Thinlits Colorized Bow Tied.  Just imagine a variety of uses for this beautiful bow for birthday cards or other occasions.  





 This die set comes with 11 dies and on the back of each die, it is etched with a number of a Set from #1 to 3 to use each set with the color cardstock if you wish.  The best way to begin using the Sizzix Colorize die set is to watch the Sizzix tutorial by clicking HERE.  



The set comes in 11 dies but divided into Set #1, #2, #3 that are etched behind each die for cutting with certain colored cardstock by set.   I had experimented with different shades of red and threw the first bow away since the shades were too much of a contrast.  For the card shown above,  Set #1 was cut out with the dark cardstock for the background.  Then, I experimented with Set #2 of metallic red and then  Set #3, I used the red glitter cardstock.  

I really recommend getting the new Sizzix Chrome Precision Base Plate for Intricate Thinlits even though your old one works fairly well for cutting thin dies.  I only have to use one cutting pad rather than two with the plate and each thinlit die comes out perfectly cut out each time and the tiny pieces fall out of the die.  I bought this to use on old intricate dies that were no longer cutting well and worn out and this base cutting plate did the trick of no more problems with cutting any die cut out with only one swipe through the Sizzix die cutter.  In addition, the Chrome Precision Base Plate leaves no impressions behind from previous cuts, so it always looks new even after a year of daily use.

I used Beacon 3-n-1 Advanced glue to assemble the bow.  I really liked using the 5" square red and white patterned paper and then cut off the ends of the ribbon to the edge of the paper.  Make sure to have the ribbon of the bow to be placed up and down and left and right since it looks a lot better but I also liked not always centering the bow in the middle of the 5" square patterned paper or embossed cardstock to leave space for sentiments, etc.

I love the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Confections Candy Canes for the center of the bow.  I added the Tim Holtz Ideo-ology Layers-Christmas Botanicals for the center of the bow.  The package of these gorgeous die cuts of poinsettias, etc. are idea for Christmas cards.

Play around with your cardstock papers since this die cut bow will be the center of attention with the sentiment.

Graphic 45 Let It Bee Birthday card with pocket

Welcome back and Nancy, here.  I am excited to do fall birthday cards with a handmade bouquet of fall leaves and flowers and sticks from my back yard.  I stamped out some sentiments and adhered these to the candy bars for that added touch when my friend gets her bouquet of flowers with treats.

Leaves are turning and morning walks feeling crispy cooler temperatures and seeing the pumpkins just inspired me to create another card with Graphic 45 Let It Bee collection.  I love these images and colors of beautiful sunflowers, golden bees and bright red poppies with bee sentiments just perfect for card making, mini albums and papercrafts.   

I made a card to insert inside the pocket and added a wooden spoon and tea bag for a treat. Now my card is a gift!  You can also tuck a gift card inside but I will add some family photos this year in additional to the treats and birthday card in the pocket.
I added some metal bees and coated with some Prima Marketing gold wax to bring out the bees.  I used a hot glue gun to glue on the bees as well as the handmade sunflower.  I used a Copic Market that is a darker gold to brush on the center of the yellow petals for some contrast.  I added a jute string behind the flower before using a hot glue gun to adhere it to the card.
I created a pocket with 1/4" depth with 2" x 6" pocket and the scoring of 1/4" on the inside of the card so when the card is folded, the pocket will fold with the card.  The outside measurements of the card is 5" x 7" but when scoring, make sure to cut an addition 1/4" for that scoring in the center.  

 Before gluing the front of the card to the base frame, I added jute string around the card so that the jute could hold the card together with the treats in the pocket on the inside of the card.

Supplies:

My Color Heavy White Cardstock
My Color Heavy Black Cardstock
EK Success Scoring Board
EK Success Cutter Bee Scissors
Handmade sunflowers flowers
Metal bee embellishments
Canvas ribbon Optional May Arts 3/4 Inch Classic Ribbon


Instructions:
  • First, create a 5″ x 7″  fold card base from white heavy cardstock and measure 14 1/4" x 5" (1/4 will be score in the center for the fold that will coordinate with the pocket.
  • Next, 5" x 7" Graphic 45 pattern paper on 5" x 7" cardstock and adhere to front of card base.
  • Cut out 2" x 5" Graphic 45 pattern paper and add a 1/8" black cardstock border around this paper and glue behind the image.
  • Cut out the Honey Bee square from the paper pad and adhere to the top right.  I also made sunflowers from an ole die and used the yellow pattern paper to cut out the flowers.  I used a Copic Marker that is has a little bit of coral and used the large tip to ink in the center of each petal for that fall look of a sunflower.
  • Use a hot glue gun to adhere metal bees and the handmade flowers to the front of the card.
  • Inside Instructions.  Cut out a 5" x 7" patterned paper from the collection and adhere to both sides of the inside.
  • Cut out sentiments images  from the collection and adhere to both sides of the inside.
  • I type my sister's name and printed it on the paper pad and cut it out with a tab die cut for the birthday card inserted in the pocket on the inside of the card.

Two Cute to Spook

Happy Fall Saturday, and for those Halloween crafty friends today, I have two cute to spook monster cards for our little grandkiddos for Halloween that is only a few weeks away.  I created these cards using the Sizzix Tim Holtz Costume and Sizzix Tim Holtz Mischievous die sets along with the Simple Stories Vintage October 31st stickers. 


 

The Sizzix Tim Holtz Costume is basically layers of dies that you build up following the color code stamped on the back of each die. Of course, Halloween comes with kitties.  I added the Sizzix Tim Holtz Mischeaveous featuring eight curious cats that are perfect for adding spooky kitties to these cards.  The set comes with 16 dies of eight cats and eight coordinating heads to make those kitties pop! 
I highly recommend first to watch tutorials from Sizzix for the steps of putting these monsters together by click HERE.   My first attempted for each monster assembly was a learning experience and had to do it twice to get it right. I found the mummy to be more challenging at first than the other two monsters. I would highly recommend to NOT do all of the cutting at once in the beginning since those little pieces get easily lost.  Therefore, cut one die and glue to base before continuing to the next die that will be cut with a different colored cardstock.  At first, you will refer to the tutorials and the color guideline to get you through the first assembly as well as the picture on the front of the die packet of the monsters. 

I sponged each card with the yellows and blues of Ranger Distress Oxide ink pads using a brush.  I cut out a circle using a punch and stuck it on before sponging and then sponged around the circle to make for a moon.  After sponging the blue, I used Ranger orange and yellow ink using a brush for the moon.  

For additional to the background, I dug out some ole Halloween dies and stamps to use for these cards.
