Enjoy a piece of Americana

Hi everyone, Steph here today.

Can you believe this is the last weekend of August?  The last weekend of Summer?  Where has the time gone?

In keeping with the upcoming holiday, I've created a card using Bo Bunny's Anthem pattern papers along with the Prima Doll.  I adore these larger stamps because there is just so much you can do with them.

I chose to use a 4 1/4" x 9" card and added my papers on top.  The stamped image was paper pieced with Bo Bunny's papers and inked before adding her to the card.  I fussy cut elements from some of the papers and also inked them before adding them to the card.

Happy end of summer and enjoy your holiday weekend.

Magnolia 3D-card

Hi everyone!

Pi here and if you're a follower you'll notice I'm back with another 3D-box card using Magnolia stamps again. Well, what can I say - they're a hoot to make and they come together super easy and fastare than you might think.

Besides the colouring and fuzzy cutting the images, which you might do even if you're just layering them on a "flat" card. The box itself is nothing.

I decieded that I wanted to make my box 2,5" x 2,5" (don't forget to add some extra for the flap that will overlap as closure) and 3" high.

Therefore I started with a paper sized to 10,5" x 5,5". (4x2,5"+0,5") x (3"+2,5") - does that makes sense? If not let me know and I'll try to explain it better for you. There is also a lot of tutorials on youtube, I've just adjusted the measurements...

Then I scored the paper at 2,5"; 5"; 7,5" and 10" across the longer side.
Left one of those "spaces" untouched (That will be the back of your box, I just find that it made it sturdier. You can score it if you'd like to) and scored the remaining 3 at 2,5" across the shorter side.
I cut the scoremarks on the 2,5" - that will create the flaps of the box.

After that it's pretty much just to assemble the box. To create something to hold your cut images and die cuts to just place a "bar" on the top of the box opening and attach it from inside to inside. How many you want depends on how many layeres you want. Good luck! Let me know if you'd like more help :)

Dream of being more.....

Hi everyone, Steph here today with fingers covered in inks and mists.

I love getting inky, pulling out assorted supplies and just playing around to see what can be created.

This is the final result:

I colored the tag with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and Dusty Concord Distress Ink misting them with water to create a water colored background effect.  Using a Ranger Craft Mat, I mixed up some more colors on the mat and then added those colors to the tag.

Once the tag was completed, I spritzed it with some Perfect Pearls mist for a little shimmer.

The image was stamped with Memento Black Ink and then fussy cut before adding to the tag with foam adhesives for dimension.

Make a wish

Hi everyone!

Pi here with another Tuesday project :)

I love how you can mix Graphic 45's collections - would you guess that this card is made with two different collections? Steampunk spells and French country. Now, don't you just love the colours?

It might show better in the inside that I have used the 4x6 cut aparts from the 12x12 paper pad (French country) to use as my background. On the front of the card I have used layers in the same proportions as the cut apart.

Thinking of you

Hi everyone, Steph here today and, as usual, I'm covered in ink.

This pretty Memory Box stencil - Butterfly Vine - is quite detailed.  Placing the stencil on beige cardstock, I inked it with Ranger Distress inks in Walnut Stain and Antique Linen.  The panel was mounted on some Icy Mint Bazzill cardstock.

After tying May Arts ribbon around the panel, I added a sentiment from Wild Rose Studio which was stamped on a chipboard circle.  Several Wild Orchid Roses were added the ribbon and a small metal butterfly was added on top.

Prima seashore card

Hi everyone!

Pi here with another card using Prima's seashore collection again. I love this collection! The only thing that's not from the collection is the stamp I used on the cut-apart piece, which is an old set I found in my stash (I didn't even remember I had it - time to destash?).

I'm not sure if you can tell by the photo, but I have added some texture and dimension (without adding bulk) to the papers by stamping them with vintage photo distress ink. The blue harlequin has some Magnolia chicken wire in the left upper corner and behind the right upper corner and in the gap where the ornate key from G45 is placed.

The brown postcard/map paper has been distressed with vintage photo as well, but also stamped with the Kaisercraft crackle clearstamp to add some depth. Even the backside of the paper is stamped and distressed where the corner is bent and the torn scrolls shows. I've used both the crackle stamp from Kaisercraft and the post card stamp from G45 French Country #3 to mimic the text and pattern. I'm very pleased with the result and that little extra attention to detail really paid off when the card came together.

Make a wish on a starfish

Hi everyone, Steph here today and I'd love for you to make a wish on a starfish.

How awesome is this paper from Graphic 45?  This By the Sea collection has so many possibilities.

Today, I decided to focus on the sentiment which was cut from the 12 x 12 cut out paper.  And it's perfect because there is a sheet of starfish paper in this collection.

Nothing screams summer like kids playing in the sand.  So pull out your cardstock and Graphic 45 papers and start creating today.
