From My Sister

Good Morning Everyone.

I thought I would share a tag my sweet sister sent me through a text. First off, let me explain, she lives in a truck with her husband and they drive all over the country for Swift. So I am not sure how one would get any crafting done but she apparently finds a way. I know she spends hours watching videos and just wanting to be home with her entire stash of crafting supplies so she can put all that new found inspiration to good use, but for now, its onward trucking.

Anyway, here is the tag and it is amazing at that.

Here is what she said she used:

Floral Copics, Julie Nutting Stamp and tag pad, Gelato sticks and Illusions stamps.

I miss you a Lot

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with a fun new stamp and coordinating die from WPlus9 Studios.  Her name is Miss You Lots.  She has a coordinating die which cuts her wonderfully.

The background was created with papers from Graphic 45 and Wild Rose Studios.  I inked around the edges of the paper with Walnut Ink.

Isn't she the sweetest?  I colored her with Copic Markers.

Faux lasercut card

Hi everyone!

Pi here with a card.
This was the first time I tried this faux lasercut look technique.

I'm sure you can find really good tutorials on youtube. But in short, you use an intricate diecut and then assemble it intertwined with itself. On this card I only used two diecuts, but if you have a smaller diecut or a larger window you want to use three or four pieces. Below you can see which die I used. The Rubber Buggy carries a number of beautiful dies that you'll do wonderful with this technique, you'll see me do this more :)

Wild Rose Studio - Cutting Die - Butterfly Burst
To add some interest and texture I stamped some cracks in the background and added some flat back crystals. I finished the card by wrapping some ribbon and twine around the bottom for balance. Then I made a small cluster of flowers - super easy :)

Products from the store:
WRS butterfly burst die
White lace w white satin center
Bakers twine, seafoam
WOC 10mm open roses
WOC 15mm open roses
Flatback crystals
Kaisercraft clear stamp crackle

Thinking of You

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today.

The store has some amazing stamps and the one I used today is from Stamping Bella - it's called Winnie Peeking Out the Window and she is lovely.  And since my grandmother's name was Winifred (Winnie, for short), I just had to have her.

Winnie was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.

The 5 1/2"  card was created from kraft cardstock and several layers of papers from Annabelle's Garden was added.

Belated Dec daily with Lawn Fawn

Hi everyone!
Pi here

Yikes! Time does fly, doesn't it?
Can you believe that we're already past one and a half month into 2015?

I have just finished my December daily and I'm a bit disappointed in myself, but I'll learn from my mistakes and am just glad to get it done, at the moment...

This was my first serious attempt, I've been watching other people's Dec daily on youtube and was really excited. But I chose the wrong format. I was trying to fit it in my 12x12 PL album, thinking that it would work on a weekly basis as my regular PL - well... WRONG!!!

I had the worst time trying to fit photos, journaling and embellishment in that small space... I should have known better... My regular PL contains alot of photos. I probably has thousands of photos of my darling, now 4 months old (?!), baby boy. At last, hybrid scrapbooking turned out to be the solution. So I have been fiddeling with photoshop too...

Next year I will try to make a 12x12 per day instead. I got the wonderful idea from this talented lady on youtube. Nicole911 - you probably already know her ;)
And the best part is, I can get started much much earlier than December. I did consider chucking my poor attempt for 2014 and start over. But as I'm including it in my son's "first year" I didn't want it to take up so much space, compared to the rest of the year.

I have to admit, the photos lies - as I don't want to show photos of my baby (oh, believe me. I do want to show him off, but am afraid the pics could end up in wrongful hands), I have added some other more neutral pics.

Products used from the store:
Lawn Fawn Collection kit Snowy days
Lawn Fawn stamp & die set Snowy days
Lawn Fawn stamp set Deck the halls

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today sending you birthday wishes.

In my household, February is a month for birthdays so what better to use for birthday cards than Graphic 45's Time to Celebrate.

This background paper says it all - RSVP, Celebrate, Party, Join Us and so much more.  It's the perfect backdrop for a birthday card.  I wrapped some May Arts ribbon around the card.

This collection also comes with ATC type cards in lots of varieties.  I selected the Happy Birthday card, popping it before adding it to the card.

You need to check out this collection for birthday projects, wedding projects and anything you need to celebrate.

Fun Valentine card

Hi everyone!

Pi here.
I had a blast making this card mixing Lawn Fawn stamp set.

I stamped the background with a Magnolia rubber stamp and then colored my images with copic markers. The text is from various MFT greetings which I masked  in order to only stamp the word I needed. The exception is the scripted word "life" which is from a Technique Tuesday set and the word "AND" which is from Lawn Fawn's Snow days stamp set. I'm really pleased with the result.

Products from the store:
Milk & cookies stamp & die set (please, note that the link is only for the stamps)
Love you a latte stamp & die set (please, note that the link is only for the stamps)
Magnolia rubber stamp Love background
Embossing powder gold tingsel
Copic markers (R29, E51, E31, E33, C0, C1)
Stamping supplies (doublesided tape, embossing ink, memento ink tuxedo black & rich cocoa)

"YOU ARE" MFT complimentary greetings
"the", "to" & "My" MFT all smiles
"life" TT Everyday pocket page
