Altered Birdhouse by Steph

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with lots of fun products from the store.  Please visit the store for all the fun products I've used today.

I've got an altered birdhouse to share today.

Start by painting birdhouse with black gesso.  This will allow the colors of the birdhouse to really stand out..

Using The Crafter's Workshop Tattered Lace stencil , move it around the birdhouse adding modeling paste.  Once dry, add assorted embellishments around the birdhouse.  I used Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mini Gears, Prima chipboard, buttons and more.  Each of the items was adhered using Dina Wakely Media Soft Gel Medium.  For added depth, I layered a number of different elements.

Next, I gessoed the entire birdhouse again because I wanted all the elements in one uniform color when I painted them.

I painted the birdhouse with assorted Prima Art Alchemy Metallique Paints:
Midnight Sky
Raven Black
Dragon's Eye

Once dried, I added Art Alchemy Rust Paint Set to give it a rustic appearance.

Finally, I used my fingers to add Prima Marketing Art Alchemy Metallique Wax over the entire project.

Thank you for visiting
