Last Christmas card of 2014

Hi everyone!

Pi here again.
So we made it through December and 2014 :)
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas time.

Christmas Tilda with cat is the first stamp I recieved as a DT-member for The Rubber Buggy and I'm still loving it. I colored it monochromatic with the cool gray series from Copic and then continued the frosty look with the icey blue from Magnolia. One of my favorite colors for Christmas actually. I backed it with Graphic 45 paper and really love the tone it set for the card. This is my fav of the year I believe.

I'm really looking forward what 2015 brings. Did you notice Kellie has updated the webshop? Besides bringing the latest of Lawn Fawn, she's also bringing a new brand Wplus9 design studio - super cute and versitile stamps. There are also new poppy stamps dies - a division of Memory box, equally detailed and great quality. But the greatest change may be that she has introduced a reward system where you can earn chips which you can trade for discounts. How great is that? Create an account and become a member now :)

Products used on the card:
Magnolia Rubber stamp Tilda Christmas with cat
Copic markers (CG-series)
12x12 Magnolia paper Snowy wood
6x6 Graphic 45 paper pad solids and patterns, Twelve days of Christmas
WOC pionsettias
Stamping supplies (bonefolder, memento ink, doublesided tape)

Thank you for visiting and happy new year!!!
See you all in 2015 :)

Belated Merry Christmas

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with a belated Christmas card.  We all have them - those we forgot to send (or post) or those we need for someone quickly.

Memory Box dies are amazing and intricate.  I've used the Traditional Ornament for the ornament base and the Lydia Ornament on top.

The card was created from Bazzill cardstock cut 5 1/2" x 11", then scored to create a 5 1/2" square card.  A layer of Bo Bunny pattern  paper was added and a layer of Bazzill cardstock placed on top.

May Arts ribbon was tie to each ornament before adding them to the card and a simple sentiment was added to the corner.

It was the night before Christmas...

Hi everyone!

Pi here with another Christmas card just before the great holiday.

I've made a window card and mixed different stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn that's in the store. My new favorites :)

I've stamped the sentiment on acetate with white staz on, but it didn't come out as opaque as I wished. (I think I didn't do a very good job reinking the inkpad...) But I think it really looks like steam on a window, doesn't it?

The trees are made really quick and easy - I just stamped them in pine needles distress ink and die cut them as they were. The other images are copic colored. Just like my other card from last week HERE, I changed the stamen to a flatback bling instead. It's also colored with a shimmer spray. I used LSG silent night silver, but you can find a ton of colours in the store from Prima Color Bloom. The star night background is Maja Design paper just as it is. Love!

The inside of the card is also made with design paper from Maja Design. The greeting is heat embossed with Ranger white superfine embossing powder, which reads "Merry Christmas and Happy new years".

Products used from the store:
Lawn Fawn Snow days (the trees)
Lawn Fawn Milk & Cookies (the plate of cookies)
Lawn Fawn Love you a latte (the mug & sentiment)
Copic markers
Distress ink pine needles
6x6 Maja Design paper pad Vintage vinter
WOC pionsettias
Stamping supplies (memento ink, doublesided tape, bonefolder)

Thank you for visiting and a merry Christmas to all :D

Time to Party

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with a sweet, non Christmas card.

Graphic 45's Time to Celebrate papers can be used for graduations, mother's day, parties, anniversaries, or any other time you want to celebrate.  The colors are beautiful and you can mix and match the papers easily.

Adding layers and tying some May Arts ribbon around the card highlights how amazing this collection is.

Older Maja Design Christmas paper

Hi everyone!

Pi here.
We're halfway through December and Christmas is just around the corner :)
I hope you all have had time to enjoy it, as I know this is the most stressful time of the year for some.

I just love the beautiful cards by Steph lately with the new Maja Design paper, don't you?
I'm here with 3 quick little cards from an older Maja Design collection

They are just about odd 4x4 in sizes and I got to use some of the growing pile of scraps from my 6x6 paper pad by Maja Design. The paper pad also has a couple of sheets of cut aparts with tags and sentiments that I've used. I've added eyelets on the tags for a more authentic look (and to use my stash and crop-o-dile). If you've followed me through December, you know that I have a habit of changing the stampen on my pionsettias and this is no exception.

Products used from the store:
6x6 paper pad Maja Design, Vintage winter
Stamping supplies (doublesided tape, bonefolder)
Ranger embossing powder, silver superfine
Bakers twine, red
WOC pionsettias

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today, and with Christmas coming, it's time to get those cards ready.

I've used some lovely papers from Maja Designs - A Gift For You collection.  I can't get enough of this paper line.  It is so pretty.  I cut apart the Die Cut sheet to get the tags and other elements to use on the card

Ranger Distress Ink in Antique Linen was used around the card giving an aged appearance.

Lawn Fawn Christmas card

Hi everyone!

Pi here.
I hope you all have gotten the fantastic news that The Rubber Buggy is now carrying Lawn Fawn products - yippi!

Here is a white on white Christmas card using both snow days & deck the halls stamp set.

I'm so happy I managed to get this card done in one evening. But let me tell you I was a bit stressed for time, since my sleeping baby could be unsleeping at anytime :)

But it's so easy with these set, so I was just stamping and embossing franticly and was having the best time really. The bunnies are colored with copic markers (C0 & C1, R00 & R10) and I added some wink of stella clear glitter and some stickles to make them sparkle. I've seen lots of people heatemboss on wellum and I had some in my stash. I'm super happy with the result and that's why I went OTT. The base of my card is Bazzill marshmallow cardstock, great and sturdy - I will get some more of these! I've grounded the images on a scalloped circle on top of some ribbon. To make the lace show abit more on top of all the white I've layered it on grossgrain ribbon for some texture. I hope you can see all the details.

Products used from the store:
Lawn Fawn Snow days stamp & die set
Lawn Fawn Deck the Halls stamp set
Copic markers
Grossgrain/satin edge ribbon, white
Lace with satin center, white
Icestickles diamond
Ranger embossingpowder white superfine
Bazzill cardstock Marshmallow
Stamping supplies (Bonefolder, doublesided tape, embossing ink, memento ink)

Gift Card Purses

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today.

I find myself giving more gift cards than gifts these last few years and while I find them impersonal, I like to personalize them with a handmade gift card holder.  Today, I've created purses with papers from 7 Dots Studio.

Double sided papers work best because they are more substantial and look lovely, both inside and out.  Using a mix of papers you can give everyone on your list a different purse.

Velcro holds the purses closed so the contents remain intact.

While great for holiday gift cards, think of the variety you can create for all your gift giving needs.

Time to deck the halls

Hi everyone!

Pi here and it's finally that time of the year :)
December!!
I love, love, love Christmas if you haven't guessed.

So just a heads up, from now on all my DT-project for The Rubber Buggy will be Christmas cards.

This one is inspired by sketch #336 from Sketch Saturday. I really liked the shape you get when only rounding everyother corner and that really inspired me.

The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Deck The Halls. I changed the stamen of the pionsettia and used some flatback pearls instead. I sprayed it with my LSG Rudolf nose red, but there are plenty of beautiful shimmer sprays in the store as well from Prima Color Bloom. The stamped image is colored with copic markers in cool grays (CG-series), but as I put it on the card with the vibrant G45-green and the Bazzil Peppermint it got kind of lost. So I colored the berries red and added some green to the leaves.

The inside of the card is heat embossed with superfine white embossing powder from Ranger. The stamp is a greeting in Swedish, which I love and have had for several years now.

Products used from the store:
Wee stamps winter fairy
Copic markers
Lawn Fawn Deck the Halls
12x12 Bazzil peppermint cardstock
6x6 paper pad solids and patterns Graphic 45, 12 days by Christmas
WOC poinsettias
Red twine
Ranger superfine embossing powder
Stamping supplies (doublesided tape, bonefolder, memento ink

For You Christmas Card

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with a Christmas card For You.  It's never too soon to start getting those Christmas cards started.

I've used some lovely papers from Maja Designs - A Gift For You collection.  I can't get enough of this paper line.  It is so pretty.  I cut apart the Die Cut sheet to get the tags and other elements to use on the card.

Adding Bazzill Peppermint cardstock between each layer allows everything to pop.

Super easy Christmas card

Hi everyone!

I'm here with a super easy project for The Rubber Buggy.
These Christmas cards are perfect to mass produce if you're shorthanded on time.

I die cut MFT snowflakes to work as masks, it even worked out as well that I could reuse them a couple of times so I did not have to die cut new shapes for each card - time saving :)

I then sprayed them in a couple of different colors with shimmer sprays (I used LSG starburst sprays, but there are plenty of beautiful colors in the store), embossed a greeting (I used gold tinsel and silver), wrapped some twine and voila!

I then added the card to a sturdy background paper as the watercolor paper tend to curl. Bazzil cardstock is perfect for this, really heavy weight.

I hope you try it out!

Products from the store:
MFT die-namics LET IT SNOWFLAKE
Shimmer spray
Distress watercolor cardstock
Magnolia rubber stamp, A MERRY CHRISTMAS (text)
Embossing powder
Twine
Bazzil cardstock

Joy and Peace

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with a couple of quick and easy Christmas cards.

These cards are 3" x 5".  These lovely papers are from Maja Designs - A Gift For You collection.  Using A Gift from the Heart for the base of the cards, I then cut apart the Die Cut sheet to get the tags and winter scene, a beautiful collection of elements.

Bazzill Peppermint cardstock was used to mat the elements before adding them to the cards.

This is a great way to create quick and easy cards for the upcoming holidays.

Fall color card with summer collection

Hi everyone!

I'm back with another card for The Rubber Buggy and by now the fall is right upon us in Sweden.
As I live by the coast, the weather most of the times can at least be described as windy :)

Although I know Graphic 45 released By the Sea as a summer collection, I couldn't help but be inspired by the windiness and made this card.

I've also experimented with the distress ink as water colours and I had a ton of fun. Even though I would not say that watercolour is my strong side. Simply put, I need more practise - a lot more :)
I also tried some masking technique with a torn post-it, to create to look of land...

I also made embellishment by using stamps from the same set with distress ink on Prima design paper. Really quick and easy, just stamp and fuzzy cut! Ok, depening on your fuzzy cutting abilities... I just assume I'm one of the slower ones, so you should be able to do it faster :)

Products used from the store:
Graphic 45 cling stamp By the Sea #1
6x6 Prima paper pad seashore
12x12 paper Prima seashore, sea memories
Distress ink weathered wood
Distress ink iced spruced
Distress ink crushed olive
Distress ink brushed corduroy
Stamping supplies (bone folder, score tape, scissors, watercolor distress cardstock, archival ink, watercolor brush)

Party Time with Graphic 45

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today  working with  some amazing Graphic 45 papers..

Time to Celebrate can be used for graduations, mother's day, parties, anniversaries, or any other time you want to celebrate.  The colors are beautiful and you can mix and match the papers easily.

Adding Bazzill cardstock mats between each layer adds some nice dimension to the card as done the light inking.  A piece of the paper was cut into a pennant shape and added as the final layer.

Lawn Fawn is coming

Hi everyone!

Pi here.
Great news :D
Kellie is bringing in Lawn Fawn to The Rubber Buggy store - YAY!!!

I can't tell you how excited I am!!

So in honor of the new brand I used a stamp & die set from my stash - season's tweetings.
I'm very happy with the way it turned out, mixed with products from the store such as Graphic 45 and Magnolia.

I've sprayed the WOC poinsettia with LSG glory of the sea gold and removed and the green leaves. I also changed the middle part for a flat crystal. Since I was in a hurry (my craft time is somewhat limited nowadays) the die cut leaf is painted with a wink of stella pen (clear), but you can also use the prima shimmer spray or perfect pearl from the store...

Products used on the card:
Lawn fawn seasons' tweetings stamp & die set
Magnolia doohickey tag (similar)
Copic markers
WOC poinsettias
Spellbinder's shapabilities foliage
WRS circle greetings
G45 papers, various collections (Eeirees tale, place in time)
Bakers twine, orange

I hope you liked it.
Don't forget to check out the store for the new Lawn Fawn products.

Brahm's lullaby layout

Hi everyone!

Pi here with another layout using Graphic 45, love how easy it is to put together something beautiful using their products.

I've used G45's collection Baby 2 Bride again together with some elements from other G45's collection such as Le romantique, Little darlings and Once upon a time. You can also hint a thin boarder from the paper I used to mat some of the background pieces. That's also a paper from G45, a curiosity shoppe. So you see how easy it is to combine the different collections no matter what theme.

The layout is a picture of my sleeping baby boy and the title and journaling is the lyric of the Swedish version of Brahm's lullaby. I've focused on embellishing with roses. The large background 12x12 has small roses scattered. I also used Le Romantique stamps of roses as an element across the page. The journaling card from the deluxe collection already has roses, but I've added a fuzzy cut element from Little Darlings to cover the figure in the circle on the journaling card as it didn't fit with my theme. The title is written with stickers from the little darlings collection, but the other smaller stickers "lullaby" & "rock-a-bye" is from Baby 2 Bride.

Products from the store:
Graphic 45 deluxe collection baby 2 bride
Stamping supplies (doublesided tape, scissors)

Stencilled Christmas Tag

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today working with stencils and ink.

Have you seen the fun stencils in the store?  Everything from Memory Box to The Crafter's Workshop to Ranger.

Today's I've used  The Crafter's Workshop and Ranger stencils to create a layered look on my tag.

I started by placing the Splattered Stencil on kraft cardstock and inked it with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink using an Ink Blending Tool.  My second layer is the Crafter's Workshop Mini Bricks Stencil inked with Dusty Concord Distress Ink and an Ink Blending Tool.

May Arts ribbon was tied to the tag after first being inked with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink using an Ink Blending Tool to make it less stark white.  A Sizzix banner and Santa with his Sleigh finished off the card.

If I had wings.....

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today and I'm using 7 Dots Studio papers - Cold Country.  This is a lovely collection with assorted papers in muted tones.  Creating the card from Bazzill Licorice cardstock makes the pattern papers pop.

I created a card using Spellbinders Grand Labels Ones dies and cut additional layers from  7 Dots Studio papers

A strip of music paper was torn and inked before adding it to the card front.  Additional papers were die cut to create the card's focal elements.  If you look closely, you'll see the bottom butterfly peaking off the edge of the die.  I fussy cut around it so that it would not be cut off during the die cut process.

All the layers were inked with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink before the card was assembled.

A father's love

Hi everyone!

Pi here with another baby layout.
However,  I'll be reluctant to post picture of my boy on the Internet, I hope you will all understand.

I have mainly used Graphic 45 deluxe collection baby 2 bride, but there are a couple of other collections as well. The background across the layout is from Le romantic and the bird in the lower left corner is fuzzy cut from Little darlings.  The paper and photo are matted with paper from my stash.

Products from the store:
Graphic 45 deluxe collection baby 2 bride (paper, cut a parts and stickers)
Stamping supplies (scissors, double sided tape)

So you see how easy it is to work with a collection pack :)

Happy Birthday Stencilled Tag

Hi everyone, Steph here today

What do you get when you use assorted colors of Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Tim Holtz Stencils?

Limitless creations!

Start with a Stencil and add assorted colors of Distress Ink - Peacock Feathers, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain and Rusty Hinge.  Keep adding color until you like the effect.  Mat the tag with a larger tag for extra support and also ink that with Antique Linen and Walnut Stain.

I thought this would make a great birthday tag so I used the Kaiser Hip Hip stamp set and inked it with Antique Linen and Rusty Hinge.  Just add some of your favorite May Arts ribbon and twine to finish.

10 weeks to Christmas more or less

Hi everyone!

Pi here again :)
So Christmas is just around the corner - right?
Well, if you're not believing it now. You're in for a surprise later - LOL!
Times really flies.

But that's just me:)

There I've returned to a beloved technique, using Tim Holtz distress ink. I've started with embossing the background stamp to create a mask which will be really visual to the eye when you distress the card. I've then really blinged it up with the glimmer spray and you have the most gorgeous background paper.

I didn't want to cover it up, since the simplicity of itself is absolutely stunning. So I just wrapped some twine around it. The die cut is an oldie by Tim and the holly leaves are actually from an old punch, but I believe you can use this die from Memory box to achieve the same look.

Products used from the store:
Magnolia background stamp SILENT NIGHT
Distress ink FIRED BRICK
Prima bloom spray GOLD FOIL
Bakers twine RED
Stamping supplies (embossing ink, embossing powder, score tape, distress tool, ultra smooth paper)
